On May 31, he posted a “true green betta” that he claims was bred by him using Donal and Sieg’s fish.
Here is the picture he posted:
When you google “true green betta”, this fish is the first picture. The picture links back to a website that credits the original photographer, Leng Lim of IBC who in the early 2000s was famous for his reds and greens. here
After being exposed he posted another thread, adamant that he bred that fish last year.
We used a website call waybackmachine, which keeps a snapshot of every website every time it is modified. We found that this picture was posted onto that website on August 25, 2005.
Also someone noticed that the picture Dean posted actually is watermarked and copyrighted. It may be hard to see in the post but becomes very obvious when you click into it.
It is copyrighted by Leng Lim in 1997 and posted online in 2005. Even after all of these facts were presented to him, he still maintain that he bred this fish last year, which is completely impossible. This “man” has no shame.
He and his friend, Richard, insist that this is his picture and someone has stolen it and watermarked it as his own and then back dated it to 1997. Recall, this picture was posted by Dean. People cannot take your picture, edit it, and then put it back on your phone. That is not how internet works!
Even when someone data mined the embedded data they still insist that this picture was his!
This is what he posted 3 days later
I don't even know how this person can look at all this and go. NO, this is my picture. How many people can change embedded data? I can tell you not many at all, and if they have that ability they would not be doing it to steal and picture to post on a website no one goes to.
